013Created by nursing home residents in my “Crafty Corner with Anna” program, I am simply amazed how wonderfully decorated these mandala coasters turned out. A little shellac and braided wool edging provides a wonderful finish to something that can be used and admired. 001It was last minute preparation today to make 16 flowers for tomorrow. We will be making red fascinator hats in one of the local nursing homes where we have “Crafty Corner with Anna.” I figured stitching on the beads was just a little time-consuming and intricate. However, putting it all together will be a fabulous activity. Just in time for Valentine’s Day and to celebrate Heart Month. Can’t wait to see some of the finished products!

044“Crafty Corner with Anna” – the arts and crafts program for nursing homes and senior residences in the Dallas area – now includes making coasters using an assortment of mandala patterns. Even for those who do not want to color intricate patterns, there are mandalas suitable for them too. And this is one activity where you do not have to stay within the lines. For the adventurous and artistic, you can create your own design. As your facilitator, I can make suggestions, provide guidance, and give encouragement. Coasters can also make great gift items, but once you have created something you like, it’s hard to part with it. This is a really fun activity! To see my ever-expanding portfolio of ideas, please email annaparkins@earthlink.net or call 972.977.7012.

001Can’t wait to see what the nursing home residents do with their picture frames tomorrow! Every time I do an example for “Crafty Corner with Anna” I am astounded by the creativity that flows!

005The fourth hat is hot orchid pink! Perfect for Valentine’s Day or any special occasion. The four hats will be samples to display in nursing homes and senior residences so we can enjoy a great craft activity. And I will be taking custom orders, right? I am having so much fun designing, creating, etc. – just letting the inspiration flow. Can’t wait to see the smiles on people’s faces! This will be the hot trend for the Summer.

Yes, it has been months since I blogged, but hey the creative juices have been flowing. My latest crafty project to do in nursing homes is the fascinator hat. You know, dress like royalty, join the red hat society, be stylish at a party, crash a wedding with pizzazz. All of the above! Now I feel confident that I can bring this activity to your group or home. How does this work? Well, I have the basic pattern, all the materials, the fun commentary, and I am looking for opportunities to share in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Because I work with some who have less mobility, some steps come pre-assembled. So think about this activity for that special occasion, Valentine’s Day, or any other day that you want to look fabulous. Email me for availability, cost, etc. at annaparkins@earthlink.net. PS I will be wearing the red one!!!003

Pendulum Dowsing Continued

How do you choose which pendulum is for you? Can you make it swing in a particular manner? Do you have trouble asking the right questions? Do you trust your dowsing skills? All these questions and more will be discussed at my next Pendulum Dowsing Workshop on Sunday, April 13th, in North Dallas. We will discuss clearing techniques, look at energy fields, and take time to practice our dowsing skills. Of course, there will be handout material (that’s how I like it!) and the first 8 to sign up will receive a free pendulum. Time: 2-4 pm. Cost: $30.00 (Previous participants half-price). Please register before Thursday, April 10th. Contact: annaparkins@earthlink.net or 972-977-7012 for details.
